Project Graduations, sometimes called senior send offs or post prom celebrations…  require a lot of space and a great deal of flexibility.   In this blog, we will provide lists of some top NJ venues known for hosting project graduations along with some tips and considerations while searching for the perfect space.

 

Let’s start with analyzing various venue types:

 

Consider amusement parks and family entertainment centers.  These spaces often become a one-stop-shop for you since they have a wide array of built in entertainment features.  Often these venues tend to be more costly and require you using their in-house food and beverage services.  Despite the higher initial cost, these venues are generally all-inclusive and make the planning easy.  In your search, find out if you have exclusive use of the venue or if you may be sharing the space with the public or other large groups.   Venues like this in New Jersey include:

      2. American Dream, Secaucus
      3. Super Charged, Edison
      4. FunPlex, Mt. Laurel & East Hanover
      5. PinStripes, Paramus
      6. Colonial Bowling and Entertainment, Lawrenceville

 

Other popular destinations include sports centers including domes and indoor turf fields.  In these facilities, we encourage you to utilize the in-house features, but realize you will likely be hiring one or several companies to supplement the in-house service.  Some of these venues include:

      3. Adventure Crossings, Jackson
      4. Sportika, Manalapan
      5. Tennis/Racquet clubs

 

 

 

Colleges and community recreation centers and similar styled facilities are great considerations too.  Like above, you will generally find large spaces which can accommodate your needs.  These venues often have some in-house features which you should utilize like basketball courts, snack stands, volleyball and swimming.  Some of these venues include:

      2. Drew University Rec Center
      3. Monmouth University Rec Center
      4. Various YMCA facilities
      5. Police Athletic League Facilities
      6. Boys and Girls Clubs
      7. Swim Schools and Swim Clubs

 

New Jersey also offers some great hotel, conference center and resort options.  These venues tend to be a bit more fancy which adds allure and attraction as you send out invites.  Look for a facility which has pools, space for games, possibly a theater to show movies or to host a magic or hypnosis show, etc.  Some of these venues include:

      2. Ocean Place Hotel and Resort, Long Branch
      3. The Malon Resort, Florham Park

Finally… we strongly suggest considering hosting the senior send off in your school.  By doing this, you keep your costs down and still have access to vast spaces including the school’s gym, cafeteria, auditorium and connecting hallways.  Some of our favorite project graduations take place within the confines of the graduates’ school giving them one final fun memory before exiting those halls once and for all.  Food service within your own school is generally easy either by use of the cafeteria service or by bringing in snacks from local pizza and sandwich shops.
