As the 2015 DJ Times International DJ Expo comes to an end, it’s time to reflect on the last few days which we at Xplosive Entertainment experienced in Atlantic City.
To begin, the DJ Expo (for us) is an annual August ritual where we network with some of the entertainment industry’s most respected DJs, MCs and company owners. It’s also a three day extravaganza where we can try new equipment, speak with manufacturers about the latest trends, and of course spend some money and buy some new toys (sorry, I mean gear).
But, what else happens at this alluring DJ Expo? Well… some highlights for us at Xplosive Entertainment include the Mobile Mayhem party at Ceasar’s Dusk Night Club. This second annual nightlife event was an opportunity for Xplosive Entertainment to showcase their DJ talent on stage and behind the decks along with other premier mobile DJ talent. Xplosive’s DJ Lisi opened the night with a warm, friendly, and perfectly executed hour long dance set. Following Lisi were representatives from various other companies, then an impressive scratch set by NYC’s DJ Fat Fingers. The night ended with an awe inspiring hour long set by Xplosive’s newest secret weapon, DJ Kristival. The secret is out now… Xplosive has added Kristival, an attractive, blonde female DJ to it’s talent roster. Kristival has been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years now, and in recent years has been perfecting her skills as DJ with the goal of national recognition as a top sought after female party jock. Her high energy “hands in the air” set opened with rock remixes, then included freestyle, hip hop and EDM remixes plus original tracks keeping the dance floor at Dusk pumping into the early morning hours!
Another stand out moment for the 2015 DJ Expo for Xplosive Entertainment was the Mitzvah Mania seminar hosted by Sean “Big Daddy McKee and Bobby Morganstein, two mitzvah entertainment icons. FNewor the third consecutive year, Xplosive’s founder Jordan Marshall was asked to be a panelist at the seminar. Following an informative and educational session, Jordan turned up the heat at the seminar by showing his unique and incredible high energy grand entrance which he has become known for. Two Xplosive Event Ignitors (or dance floor motivators as most companies call them) helped Jordan bring in a mock guest of honor in this standing room only session filled with DJs taking notes, recording video, and greeting Jordan with a parade of compliments following his performance.
Continuing with the diversity of the expo, DJ Michael T, Xplosive Entertainment’s Vice President had the chance to spin at the Bose booth on the exposition show floor for about an hour. Bose was presenting their new line of speakers called the F1, a mobile line array speaker set designed specifically for a DJ looking for high powered sound with the impressive audio clarity Bose has become known for. As show attendees passed by the bright yellow Bose booth many stopped to gawk at the unique speaker design, listen to the mind blowing sound quality, and snap some photos as Michael T provided a fun mix of music to enjoy.
There were so many other moments of the showcase that add up to our favorite week of the summer year-after-year. All the hugs, hand shakes, conversations, meals (ok… drinks too) shared with friends make this experience well worth it’s long anticipated wait. For now though, it’s back to business as usual with a busy weekend ahead and some new equipment to experiment with.
