From the moment guests arrived, it was clear this was no ordinary party. Set on a real, active horse farm, the outdoor cocktail hour kicked off the festivities with true country flair. Guests were welcomed with cowboy hats and bandanas, setting the tone for the day. A lasso trick performer dazzled the crowd while a custom belt buckle station gave guests the chance to create a personal keepsake. Nearby, a mechanical bull provided non-stop laughs, and Nacho the strolling donkey stole hearts (and a few carrots) as he mingled with the crowd.

The excitement hit a whole new level when Gaby made his grand entrance — riding into the cocktail hour on horseback like a true cowboy hero! Friends and family cheered as he dismounted and joined the awaiting guests.

When it was time to head inside the beautiful rustic barn, guests were welcomed by the sounds of country music filling the air. As the doors opened, everyone immediately hit the dance floor, two-stepping their way into an incredible first dance set that truly set the tone for the day.

After the high-energy opening, guests took their seats for heartfelt speeches, candle lighting ceremonies, and touching video montages honoring Gaby’s journey to becoming a Bar Mitzvah.

Just when guests thought they’d seen it all — a surprise guest stormed the barn. An actor, posing as the infamous Billy the Kid, barged in, guns blazing (in good fun, of course)! He warned that if guests didn’t dance to real country music, there’d be “trouble.” The DJ tried to appease him with fun hits like “Cotton Eye Joe” and “Old Town Road”, but Billy wasn’t impressed. In a hilarious moment of theatrical chaos, Billy “shot” the DJ (don’t worry, it was all part of the show!) and took over, spinning authentic country anthems like “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” — sending the party into a whole new gear.

The rest of the afternoon was a true country celebration — filled with denim, flannel, cowboy boots, and endless smiles. Friends and family danced, laughed, and celebrated Gaby’s incredible accomplishment in the most unforgettable way imaginable.

A huge shoutout to Lisa Ivler Events for designing a one-of-a-kind day, the amazing team at Riverview Barn for the stunning setting, and of course, to Gaby and his family for letting Xplosive Entertainment bring the energy, creativity, and fun to this epic “Barn Mitzvah!”

A Smooth Start: Blender Bikes in Action

One of the event’s most popular attractions was the blender bike station. Guests of all ages hopped on stationary bikes equipped with blenders, pedaling their way to fresh, frozen smoothies. The joy of creating your own delicious drink through a little exercise and sustainable energy was a hit. The blend of healthy ingredients and active participation embodied the spirit of Earth Day, emphasizing mindful living and fun ways to reduce our environmental footprint.

Rock Painting for a Lasting Legacy

Adding a touch of creativity to the day, Xplosive Entertainment facilitated a rock painting activation. Staff members expressed their artistic sides by decorating smooth stones with vibrant colors and inspiring messages. These personalized creations will now serve as a permanent feature in a new rock garden on the ETS campus. The activity not only brought out artistic talents but also fostered a sense of connection and teamwork among participants, creating a lasting legacy of the event.

A Perfect Backyard Vibe

The event offered more than just creative and interactive activities. Guests were treated to live music that set a festive tone and fresh BBQ food that satisfied every appetite. Backyard-style games, including cornhole and giant Jenga, added an element of lighthearted fun. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, encouraging attendees to unwind, socialize, and enjoy the beauty of the day.

The Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

A highlight of the celebration was the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly established rock garden. The garden, adorned with the painted rocks created during the event, is a testament to ETS’s commitment to sustainability and community building. As the ribbon was cut, applause and cheers echoed through the campus, marking the start of a new chapter in ETS’s green initiatives.

Just a few weeks ago, Xplosive Entertainment had the honor of being part of Jim and Morgan’s incredible wedding celebration at the newly opened Ivy at Ellis Preserve, (Delaware County, PA) expertly managed by Finley Caterers. From the stunning venue to the electric atmosphere, this wedding was a night to remember.

Setting the Stage

The Ivy at Ellis Preserve, with its elegant modern barn-like charm and modern amenities, provided the perfect backdrop for Jim and Morgan’s big day. Guests were wowed by the venue’s gorgeous interiors and the flawless coordination by Finley Caterers. But as the sun set, the real magic began.

High-Energy Entertainment

MC Mike P and DJ Michael T from Xplosive Entertainment brought their A-game, setting the tone for an evening of nonstop fun. From the first beat of the opening song to the very last note, the dance floor was packed. The energy was electric, and the crowd’s enthusiasm was contagious.  In addition to providing the soundtrack for the night, Xplosive provided cold spark fountains to help highlight peak moments in the reception including the couple’s introduction and first dance.

A Nod to Service and Patriotism

Jim, a proud 2nd generation police officer, was surrounded by many of his law enforcement colleagues. A special moment was captured during the night when all the officers gathered for a group photo—a heartfelt tribute to their bond and commitment to service.  Nods to the honor of serving were found throughout the night.  Seen below, is a photo of the two ring bearer’s introduction as SWAT officer and Prisoner.  The patriotism didn’t stop there. After the newlyweds said their goodbyes, DJ Michael T surprised everyone with an encore performance of “Proud to Be an American.” The entire room joined in for a powerful sing-along, ending the night on a truly memorable and emotional note.

A Country Celebration

Jim and Morgan’s love for country music was evident throughout the evening. The highlight? About 100 light-up cowboy hats handed out by the DJ team during a raucous rendition of “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy).” The hats lit up the dance floor, turning it into a vibrant sea of lights and laughter. It was a unique touch that guests will be talking about for years to come.  Songs like “Wagon Wheel,” “Friends in Low Places,” and “House Party” were huge hits peppered in throughout the night.

A Night to Remember

Jim and Morgan’s wedding was everything a celebration should be: personal, energetic, and unforgettable. The combination of a breathtaking venue, exceptional entertainment, and heartfelt moments made this a truly special event.

The evening began with an extraordinary cocktail hour, featuring appetizers, fully stocked bars, ice sculpture shot luges, and musical entertainment by Rob Silvers and Sean Cox—more famously known at the DC Duo. Guests took their time to snack, socialize, enjoy photo ops, and browse a seemingly endless array of raffles lined up for bidding. The prizes available were nothing short of outstanding, and included autographed sports memorability, a brand new mountain bike, ski sets, snowboards, and other sporting equipment. The most coveted prize, however, was an all-expenses paid trip to Disney.

Cocktail hour came to an exciting end with a performance by the New Jersey State Police Pipe and Drums Band. The group gave a heartfelt performance on bagpipes as they lead a parade of guests into the main event room. Following their act, Mercer County’s Undersheriff, Jessica Plumeri, sang the National Anthem. Everyone then took their seats in anticipation for opening speeches and presentations, each lead by Ryan’s Quest’s founders, Maria and David Schultz.

An unexpected guest popped in at the conclusion of opening speeches, too. Phillie Phanatic, mascot for the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team, took to the center of the dance floor to say hello, show off his moves, and invite the crowd to join him. In that moment, the celebration truly began. Noted party band, Brian Kirk and The Jirks, took over the stage and began a set of incredible, nonstop music. . Guests sang along at the top of their lungs, and danced the entire night away.

Xplosive Entertainment was honored to be part of such an extravagant charity effort, and proudly handled the lighting and multimedia necessary to set the upscale tone of the ball.  This included 9 x 12 projection screens flanking the stage, and four wall projected rotating inspirational quotes by famous ball players (to match the event’s baseball theme and inspirational vibe). 

Over 130 uplights were used to bring the ballroom to vibrant life, 50 of which exclusively illuminated the gorgeous centerpieces on each banquet table. 10 moving head light fixtures also added a dynamic effect to the dance floor, which remained packed for the duration of the event. Xplosive’s DJ Michael T handled the music between band sets, keeping energy and spirits up throughout. 

This fundraiser was a smashing success, with an amazing vibe felt all around. Guests left this year’s ball yearning for more after celebrating such an incredible cause in style, and we at Xplosive Entertainment can’t wait to bring the party back to life next year.

The adventure began with a consultation that was anything but ordinary. Xplosive’s Vice President, Michael Langsner, quickly assumed the role of project manager, and worked closely with James and his wife Heidi to create a unique, awe-inspiring party vision for 120 guests. These guests included local neighbors and friends, but also a distinguished group of co-workers and family that flew in from afar–all the way from California, Germany, and even Korea.  After several revisions, a customized run-of-show was designed to include  high-energy cirque talent partnered with Xplosive’s DJ, MC and Wireless Electric Violinist. The cirque performers included:

• 2 Electric Daisies
• 2 Electric Disco Starz
• 4 Showgirls
• A Lyra Performer
• 2 Contortionists
• A Living Red Carpet
• A Giant Champagne Glass Dancer

Long before these entertainers could wow James’s family and friends, the stage first had to be set—literally. Setup for this one-of-a-kind party took three full days with all hands on deck. First, platform flooring and gravel pathways were laid down to save guests from sinking their heels into the surrounding mud, courtesy of the inclement weather.   Next, carpeting was put over the walkways and flooring to add a level of class and elegance.  Then, a heated 40×80 foot tent was put up to provide a venue for all the festivities.

Inside, a dozen classic dining tables, set with gold chargers and adorned with ornate centerpieces, were arranged with enough seating to accommodate an extensive guest list. Bistro styled string lighting brought the room together, and put the perfect finishing touches on the contemporary party arena.

On the day of, as guests arrived and passed through coat check, they were ushered into a sleek cocktail hour lounge area complete with white leather couches, ottomans, and acrylic coffee tables. Superstar MC Frankie P spent the hour mingling with guests and collecting stories from those who’d traveled for the celebration. Drinks were served at a 90 degree 10×10 foot LED bar, where James welcomed his guests with two rounds of top shelf tequila!  Shortly after, all guests took their seats for a formal welcoming toast.  It was met with a thunderous applause, and followed by a delicious crab cake first course. The overall dining experience, featuring gourmet fillet and lobster entrees, was comparable to a Vegas show as cirque acts mesmerized guests with their rotating performances.   

So many enhancements and elements worked together throughout the night to bring James’s ultimate celebration to life. A glamorous step-and-repeat banner provided the perfect backdrop for guest’s photo booth snapshots.

Colored uplights, six moving head lights, lasers, illuminated staging, haze machines, and indoor fireworks (otherwise known as Xplosive’s ‘Sparkular’ effect) fostered a fun and energetic atmosphere that kept guests on their feet all night long. DJ Valentine, one of Xplosive’s most dynamic DJs, had everybody moving with classic and current club hits, with each seamlessly reimagined and elevated by live violinist, Emily. The music carried guests all the way through the 6-hour long celebration. Even after the festivities ended, the energy didn’t dissipate, instead following each and every guest back to their car.  

This event was one-of-a-kind down to every last detail. It was a culmination of client and vendor flexibility, creativity, meticulousness, and desire for perfection that truly brought the party to life. The five-star catering was graciously provided by Rob Kash of the Metropolitan Café. Cindi Kaplan of Simply Invitations & Events was responsible for the stunning décor. Miller’s Rentals built the tents and flooring, and provided all the necessary rentals.  As the weather forecast worsened, Xplosive’s phone rang nonstop. Concerned parties called in to make sure the tent would be safe and able to withstand the high winds.  A special thanks goes out to Miller’s, as the inside of the tent stayed bone dry.  The Xplosive Team couldn’t have asked for better synergy, or a better turnout for this incredible, unforgettable birthday party!

When you think of the signature characteristics which go hand-in-hand with the holiday, the term “bat mitzvah” is hardly a subject to come to mind. Interestingly though, Gillman family who’s daughter, Izzy was scheduled to celebrate her bat mitzvah on May 5th, 2018 was inspired to incorporate the “Cinco” theme. At an initial planning meeting with Xplosive Entertainment, (a NJ based DJ and event production firm specializing in bar & bat mitzvah entertainment), Jordan, the founder of Xplosive, was on a mission to get to know Izzy and see what makes her tick. At that meeting he learned Izzy was a huge science buff. He was told that Izzy would much rather a unique party rather than a typical dancing geared high energy party. At that moment, the concept “Cinco De Science” was born! This simcha (a term used for a Jewish celebration) was held at the Shackamaxon Country Club in Scotch Plains NJ .

Right from the beginning of cocktail hour the Xplosive team engaged Izzy and her friends in competitive challenges such as “Giant Jenga” and “Human Hungry, Hungry Hippos.” The goal was to break the ice and get the kids to start thinking about teamwork and strategy. Once the cocktail hour ended, all of the guests were brought into the main event space which was illuminated in teal blue and light green to match Izzy’s “Cinco de Science” logo and color scheme. Traditional party formalities took place, but what made this party special was the unique touches brought to life. On each end of the room a signature Xplosive event enhancement could be found for guests to participate in. One side of the room had Xplosive’s crowd favorite, Freestyle Photo Station, where guests could capture the excitement of the event in a logo’d print to take home.

The other side of the ballroom is where guests would find Izzy’s custom “Drink Lab.” This was built from a decaled LED lit acrylic bar for the kids to get their beverage of choice throughout the day. The bar was also outfitted with “smoking” dry ice on either end to add to the “science lab feel.”

Toward the back of the main room, the kids and adults were able to step up and participate in a station created by Xplosive called “Izzy’s Scientific Spectacles.” This station allowed the kids to create safe and exciting chemical reactions by using simple household products. Lab coats, goggles, and rubber gloves were provided so that the various experiments could be carried out in a fun and authentic, yet cautious manner.

The creativity that was channeled for this event was nothing less than outstanding and the joint team effort of all the vendors involved really helped to take it over the top! Xplosive Entertainment believes that bar and bat mitzvah’ celebrations do not always have to consist of non-stop loud music and dancing. With a creative approach and careful thought towards the timeline and execution of this unique concept, Izzy’s Cinco De Science party, was a perfect example of that. Never be afraid to think outside of the box or to take a “left turn” as we say here at Xplosive Entertainment. Test Tubes and Taco’s definitely reigned supreme for the Gillman’s! MAZEL TOV!

Sofia and Jeff were the second Xplosive couple to request a Disney inspired wedding.  They too had a custom gobo, but in their case, shining on the wall at the Grove (Cedar Grove, NJ) just behind the bride and groom’s sweet heart table was the Magic Kingdom’s castle. They also elected for custom photo booth props. Sofia and Jeff went with a purple color scheme, so Xplosive Entertainment’s LED photo booth was shining with a bright purple hue to match the room’s ceiling inlays. Sofia’s vision included Disney instrumental songs played throughout the cocktail hour. Both the Grove, located in Cedar Grove, NJ and the Pleasantdale Chateau, in West Orange consistently win accolades as top wedding venues within New Jersey.

Xplosive Entertainment was proud to be part of both these fun, trendsetting, and most importantly personalized wedding celebrations.

Last night was the prime example of why this program was conceived.  At 7:30pm mom, dad, our guest of honor (Rebecca) and her older sister (who ironically is a high school student very interested in a future on the radio) all met at the WPST studios located in Princeton, NJ.  Together, we toured the studios.  We saw it all… the giant computers responsible for running the station, to the production rooms, the on-air studio, the sales area, the promo head quarters, the live studio, and even the employee break-room.  Not only was the tour thorough, and interesting, but Shinn (an on-air personality at WPST and Promotions Director) even brought Rebecca and her family into the studio where we met Corrine who was broadcasting live while we admired how smooth and relaxed she was doing her thing.

Following the tour, we sat in a conference room, listening to PST on overhead speakers, and we began planning Rebecca’s bat mitzvah celebration.  Prior to this meeting, a venue was selected, but that’s it;  no idea of theme, color scheme, vision, etc.  Michael Langsner, from Xplosive Entertainment began asking questions to gain an understanding of the family’s ideas.  He confidently knew that this was not going to be a cookie cutter event.  And that’s when the light bulb went off.  Rebecca loves music, we were sitting at one of NJ’s most listened to radio stations, the answer was so simple.  Why not have a radio themed party?  Becca FM?  All of a sudden the ideas were flying (and they didn’t stop then).  For the next 24 hours ideas were popping into Mike’s head which were shared with the family and Shinn at PST.  How about a pre-recorded video shoot of Rebecca (who clearly is not shy) sitting at the studio’s impressive mixing board, with head phones on, all glam’ed up for her broadcast debut.  With the camera’s rolling, Rebecca is announcing the top 10 count down of her favorite songs.  This video clip is then intended to play on the big screens at her party leading right into her grand entrance.  Then, who better to announce her entrance into the main ballroom, but Shinn, WPST’s most sought after event host!

Rebecca’s bat mitzvah will continue rocking all night with her favorite songs playing, her friends and family dancing, and enjoying the combined efforts of Rebecca’s favorite station, WPST and Xplosive Entertainment, (one of NJ’s top bar/bat mitzvah event firms).  There are so many more details shared, but we do not want to give away too many secrets yet.  The party is still over a year away.

FOLLOW UP/  POST EVENT RECAP:

Wow… what an incredible event!  Rebecca’s big day came to life in a magical way.  With Xplosive supervision we coordinated a unique video recorded grand entrance with Rebecca’s sitting in the broadcaster’s chair calling out (while rocking head phones) her parents, siblings, and finally herself.  The video was filmed by Bob Anthony Films.  He carefully directed the editing so it worked properly in the live setting at the party.  Rebecca’s logo, too, was a bit hit.  Rebecca’s middle name is Rose. Her last name is Star.  And the party was a radio theme.  The logo captured all of this subliminally while incorporating her color scheme.  Radio personality, Shinn worked hand in hand with Xplosive’s MC Joe R.  Together they took the party on a seamless journey from start to finish.

This Halloween themed Mitzvah included a number of elevated enhancements and custom elements from Xplosive Entertainment. To help set the mood for this night we up-lit the room in a ghostly blue, had motivational dancers in full themed costume, dry ice (creating a low lying fog effect), and more. The “Monster” of Ceremonies was Jordan Marshall, President of Xplosive Entertainment and nationally recognized Entertainment powerhouse. Our very own DJ Lisi kept the music flowing as the DJ for the night. Motivational dancers, (turned zombies) gave guests a “Walking Dead” style greeting creeping through the Chain link gate and up the stairway into the main room. The sight of which added another level of Halloween ambiance to this Bat Mitzvah. Additionally, instead of the normal photo station, for Sophie we created a custom spooky background and made it come alive with interactive costumed characters. The photo background featured a graveyard scene and characters included the Wolfman, a red faced Devil, and a Pumpkin head. As part of Sophie’s favors guests received their photo from this unique photo station, framed. Other authentic custom props provided by Xplosive Entertainment were an animated Electric Chair Jail House Prisoner which shook at random and smoked as guests walked past the prop.  An authentic coffin with skeleton decorated with spider webs was also on hand to add to the events spooktacular feel.  For more information on how to bring your next event to “SCARY” new heights, please contact the event professionals at Xplosive Entertainment.

• Make Labels. Vendors will often have forms with contact information they will ask you to complete. So, before attending, create a label that includes your name, event date, email, mailing address, and phone number. If you’re feeling particularly ambitious, you can include a picture to help the vendor put a face to the name when the event is over.
• Create an email for your event. This is the best way for vendors to collect email addresses for continued contact. To avoid overloading your personal inbox with potential marketing e-mails, create an email address specific for your upcoming event. Event emails are free to setup and as simple to create as “joshandamy2019@gmail.com” or “Alexmitzvah2019@yahoo.com”. As you can see, we recommend including your name and event date (at least the year) in your event e-mail address, just to keep things clear. 
• Do some pre-showcase planning. Go into a showcase knowing what you’re looking for. For instance, if you’ve already booked a photographer, skip right past all the photography booths. Move on to the vendors that offer services that you still need. It’s too easy to get stuck in a long conversation. If provided, get the list of participating vendors in hand before the event. This way you can narrow down the list of who exactly you want to meet with.
• Show up early! We cannot stress this enough. Arrive early to the showcase and be sure to target the vendors you are most interested in first. Shows tend to get busy quickly. And, some customers are very talkative with vendors. Get there first and you won’t have to wait in lengthy lines with other, more chatty customers.
• Examine each vendor’s booth. A vendor’s display at a showcase will tell you a lot about their company. The vendor booth displays should be clean and tidy. More importantly, is the vendor standing alert and eager to chat with you? Or, are they sitting disinterested behind their table? Showcases are an opportunity for companies to put their best foot forward. If they don’t, then perhaps they don’t deserve your business.
• Ask vendors for referrals. Get insider reviews. Well respected vendors earn the compliments from others in the business.
• Don’t fall for pressure tactics. Showcase “specials” are a common place, but you should never be forced into booking on the spot to get that discount. If you set an appointment with the provider to follow up and explore his/her services, that incentive should still be applicable. If it’s not, it might be a scam. 
• Try to win prizes! Want a free honeymoon? A complimentary spa day? A hefty discount on your event entertainment? Many vendors at showcases provide these kind of prizes to get their service spotlighted. Take advantage of this.
• Bring a friend or family member. Get the opinions of people you trust, especially those who have planned events like yours before.
• Don’t lead on a vendor. If you are not interested, tell them so. If you lead them on, you are likely to be engaged in an unnecessary, lengthy conversation. You may also be bothered with persistent phone calls and emails. Don’t waste their time, and they won’t waste yours. Simply be courteous and say ‘no thanks’. 
• If your preferred entertainment vendor isn’t performing, ask where they’ll be next. Bridal shows and event showcases typically have a performance or a main MC for the night. This is the perfect opportunity to get an idea of how your perspective vendor performs live. It can give you a much better feel for their style, and whether that matches the feel you’re looking for at your event. If they aren’t performing at your showcase, ask where you’ll be able to see them in the future. Chances our they have several other local showcases lined up, and you’ll be able to attend another to see them in action. 
• Phone, event binder, or planner; have your schedule ready. While some vendors may not be able to access their calendars, those who can may be able to book your appointment right there. Knowing when you’re available will make those appointments much easier and quicker to schedule.
