Best Song Choice for Bar and Bat Mitzvah Photo Montages

Sentimental vs fun… this is one of many questions you should be considering when selecting songs for your son or daughter’s bar or bat mitzvah photo montage. Let’s face it, the truth is a well-produced, fun and upbeat  montage will keep the attention of your invited party guests.  However, a boring montage with slow and drab song choices combined with low quality images or repetitive transitions will be monotonous for your guests.

Below, we will provide you with some of our favorite song suggestions we’ve seen while producing photo montages for our Bar and Bat mitzvah families.

Keep in mind, your montage may be created chronologically and thus you would want to start with sentimental songs about growing up.   As the montage continues, the age of the photos becomes more current and the songs follow suit.  Or, sometimes people create montages with various chapters or groupings such as school friends, camp, family, etc.

One last tip… keep in mind your party theme.  As an example, if the party is themed around baseball and you insert a ton of little league photos a song like, “Centerfield” by Tom Fogerty is a great choice.  This certainly would not be a choice if your party was themed around candy.  (In that case, I would suggest “Candy Girl” by New Edition, or “Candy” by Mandy Moore, “Candyman” by Christina Aguilera, or the 80’s favorite “I Want Candy” by Bow Wow Wow.
